It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a week since we left the States. Looking back at my last blog, I’m blown away that it’s nearing 800 views! I hope everyone who read it found some revelation of God’s goodness—because He is so, so good!

Right now, I’m in a great place and can hardly believe this is my life. Gap K has officially hit the ground running in Guatemala, and we’ve already completed our first day of ministry. This week has been filled with orientations, worship, volleyball, chicken busses, amazing food, and so much fun. I won’t have much time to write blogs moving forward, since we don’t have internet at the base. All my texting, calling, and blogging will have to happen during special trips to a coffee shop.

Honestly, it’s been one of my favorite parts of this experience so far. Being offline has really helped our squad disconnect from distractions and reconnect with each other and with God. We’ve been playing games at night, waking up early, and being intentional about working out and spending time in the Word before our days begin.

For this blog, I’ll drop a few photos from the week with captions to catch everyone up!

Our home for the next two months!

First day of ministry!

We went to this lady Delphina’s house and helped her make a meal, and we learned how to make tortillas! Then we rode in the back of our ministry host’s truck up a mountain to a little village where we handed out all the food to the local kids!

Please be praying for my team’s first week of ministry! I can’t wait to see all the Lord has for us this week.

With love,

Ashlyn
